Nowadays we really need to pay attention to the food our kids eat. While choices are plentiful, your kids will love True Made Foods which makes delicious condiments including Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, and Veracha Hot Sauce. Each is made with pure vegetables (Butternut squash, carrots, and spinach) to provide a healthier condiment without added sugar. As you may know, too many dips and sauces are loaded with sugar and are surprisingly caloric. True Made Foods prioritizes taste, but manages to provide a much more healthy condiment.
We made the amazing BBQ Chicken Pizza that you see in the photo below using True Made Foods’ BBQ Sauce. It was such a hit that my family requested another one. The second time we made it, we thought we had made a huge mistake when we realized that my husband accidentally used the Veracha Hot Sauce for the base. When we realized this about half way through cooking, we took it out of the oven and sprinkled the BBQ Sauce on top. While we thought we had an amazing pizza before, this one was even better!

If you are not crazy you LOVE chocolate chip cookies. Well, these are beyond amazing. I like a soft, chewy, filled with chocolate cookie and that is what I have been working on for years the perfect cookie recipe! After combining several recipes over the years, and enjoying taste testing…I did it. My husband approves and little John kicks every time I eat one so it is sort of kid approved!
¾ cup butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2¼ cups flour
1½ cups chocolate chips
I HATE BANANAS! I know you are thinking then why in the heck would I use your banana bread recipe?! I LOVE BANANA BREAD! Seriously, it has to be one of my favorite foods. This go around I didn’t even have to buy bananas and wait for them to get soft and brown. My mom had major surgery this week and I went over to hang out with my 9 year old sister & 13 year old brother, and she was like “Hey, do you want to take these bananas and make bread?” She should know me well enough to not have to ask! I got about 6 dozen muffins out of the amount of bananas she gave me. So, Below you can see my recipe!
What you will need:
-2 cups flour
-2 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/2 cup butter
-3/4 cup brown sugar
-2 large eggs
-3 Large Bananas (or 4 small bananas)
First thing you are going to do is peel and mash your bananas on a plate.
Then you are going to melt your butter & brown sugar in a small mixing bowl. Once that is melted stir well and add your eggs, mix well again. Then you will add in your mashed bananas. Once you have whisked this well, start mixing in your dry mixture slowly.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Butter your pan (loaf or muffin).
Cook for 25 ish minutes, I really have to watch these. The timing is different each time because of the fruit in the bread.
I highly suggest these for breakfast cut in half, sprayed with parkay, and melted for 15 seconds. Oh, and a glass of milk or Orange juice! If you liked this recipe or wish to save it feel free to share it or pin it.
This is Awesome bread you are going to want to try this.
I want to give a big THANK YOU to Michelle Rattan for giving me the opportunity to guest write on her wonderful blog. To see more please visit me at www.thesimplylo.com

I am going to share with you how we made this quick and easy pizza.
Starting with the dough.
– Activate 1 tsp of yeast in a cup of 1/4 cups of warm water
– 2 cups of all purpose flour
– A pinch of salt
– A dash of olive oil
Knead all of this together with a 3/4 cup of water. If you are using a mixer knead just until it cleans the side of the bowl. The dryer the dough the better the crust will turn out. Then you are going to want to put it in a buttered bowl cover, and let it rise for an hour or until it doubles in size. Remove the dough roll into a tight ball and let rest 15 minutes. Press out to desired thickness. We pressed this dough into a stainless pan for a pan style pizza.
– 1 small can of tomato sauce
– Garlic Powder
With this spices just add to desired taste.
Top the pizza with your favorite toppings. Bake time varies between 15-20 minutes at 425′
*If you would like to do a BBQ chicken pizza just use BBQ sauce instead and just add chicken.
Once you try this you will never want to buy store bought whip cream again. With this you can also make mousse and many different flavors of whip cream. It may not be any cheaper this way but the freshness and taste makes up for that. It is very simple to use. If you want to watch a little video on how we did it here is the link
This is a buffalo chicken salad that is very simple, healthy and inexpensive to make. My husband loves to cook and create different things for our family to enjoy. When Making this you can you use the sauce of your choice. We choose to use Moore’s buffalo wing sauce. If you have not tried this sauce you should. This salad is something that even our smaller children enjoyed to eat. Our one year old son could not get enough of it to eat.
Our daughter is thinking about being a chef she is 11 years old. Anytime my husband gets a chance to cook and teach her new things he loves it. Stir fry is one of the things that he can teach her the basics. This is them cooking a chicken stir fry with vegetables that she choose. She begins prep by chopping up all of the vegetables and then moves on to cubing the meat (your kids favorite meat). She browns the chicken and seasons it with salt, pepper and Old bay then sets aside. In the same pan with a little bit of butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper she sautes all the vegetables starting with the ones that take the longest this usually takes about 5 minutes to cook. Then the chicken is added back to the pan and cooked an additional 5 minutes. The last step is to add any soft vegetables such as mushrooms. This takes about 2 minutes. The white rice is cooked by itself and topped with soy sauce. She was so proud of herself.
We were all wanting a snack but we really did not want to go anywhere. So we began to look around to see what we could find. We decided to make a sorbet. Who knew that something like this was so simple to make and we did not need a lot of stuff. You Can use what ever juice you want. As you can tell it was a hit. My Beautiful Daughter Randi loved it. I would recommend you to try this.
There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread in the house. The kids get excited when they start to smell it. They enjoy watching the different steps that it takes to make it. To watch it rise, roll it out and place it in the pan. Once it comes out of the oven its hard to explain to them that it has to cool before they can eat it. The loaf is almost gone before the night is over. This is something that is easy to make with the kids. They enjoy it from start o finish. I enjoy the smell that fills the house and of course eating it.
In Our home mac n cheese is a hit for lunch. It is just as simple to make whether you buy a box ready to go or make it from scratch. We have found that when we make it from scratch we do not spent anymore money, but the amount of waste is less. The 7 oz Bags of noodles will last us about 4-5 servings and the box of cheese will out last 6 bags of noodles.
If you have a large family and are looking to save money or just don’t want to waste a whole box of mac n cheese for your toddler this is a great way to go!
As you can tell by our daughters big smile it is a hit.
